It feels like the summer blockbuster season inches up a little bit further each season. It used to be around Memorial Day when we’d see the big releases start hitting theaters. Then, it crept up to early May…usually with the latest big Marvel release. Now, one could argue it’s April! We’ve seen A Minecraft Movie and Sinners have big runs in recent weeks. Thunderbolts just hit theaters. So, maybe we’re late in getting around to this year’s summer blockbuster preview, but call me old fashioned. I like to wait until it’s almost actually summer to discuss it.
We keep our summer preview tradition alive on The Vick’s Flicks Podcast this year with a look at what appears to be a loaded season on the schedule. It’s possibly my memory is just slipping a bit, but it feels like it’s been a few years see we had “big” releases every weekend of the summer.
