We recorded the very first episode of The Movie Review Rewind Podcast all the way back in September of 2022. It’s hard to believe that we’re on year three of this show. Back then, it was premium content! The only way you could access the show was by subscribing to our Patreon. That disbanded last spring, but I didn’t ever want to release the episodes for free. I figured it would be disrespectful to the people who did share their hard-earned money with us to get those episodes.
At the same time, there are like 22 episodes that I don’t want to be lost to time either. Now that we’re here on Substack, the answer is all too clear. I’ll make them available again, but only to our premium subscribers. So, throughout the months and years that follow, I’ll be releasing these older episodes to paid subscribers periodically.
Up first is where the show all started - Episode 01, on which Brandon and I relive one of our favorite movies of the last couple of decades, 2008’s The Wrestler. We’re both wrestling fans, and I do certainly think that impacts one’s enjoyment of this film. But, wrestling fan or not, it’s hard to imagine that anyone can’t appreciate the performance that Mickey Rourke turned in.
