Podcast: The Filmography of Gerard Butler

I confess I haven’t seen a Gerard Butler flick since 2017’s Geostorm. That might’ve been the moment I gave up on Butler’s work. But, from discussing it with Brandon on the most recent episode of The Vick’s Flicks Podcast, it sounds like I shouldn’t have. At one point, Butler ascended the ranks as if he was going to be the next big movie star. But, the trajectory of his career changed in the 2010s. Now, as Brandon put it on this podcast, it feels like you have to dig to find Butler’s good work, but it’s still there. It’s certainly an interesting filmography to sift through, and I still think there are flashes of potential in just about everything I’ve seen from Butler. With Greenland 2: Migration dropping, it felt like a good time to discuss Butler’s body of work.
